Split text by a code point limit

Choose a maximum per chunk and review the full text. Joining the chunks in order gives you the same source.

Maximum: 100,000 UTF-16 code units. Text and chunks are processed in this page's memory without uploading.

Choose 1–10,000, with a maximum of 1,000 chunks.

This counts code points, not visible emoji or a platform-specific limit.

Prefer the last LF within the current limit, keeping it in that chunk. With no LF, split at the limit.

One visible emoji can contain several code points. A split may separate it or other combined characters.

Reloading clears your text and chunks.

    Counting and preserving text

Does this follow a social platform's character limit?

No. You choose the limit, and this tool counts Unicode code points rather than any platform's character rules.

    Are emoji one character?

A visible emoji can contain several code points and may be split. This tool does not count grapheme clusters or visible emoji shapes.

Will line breaks stay the same?

Chunks preserve the source currently in the text field. No numbering or separators are added, and whitespace is kept. A browser may normalize pasted CRLF or CR line endings to LF before the tool reads them. The tool does not recover pre-paste file bytes. Prefer line breaks looks for LF only.
